More About Ayurveda & Yoga

In Ayurveda everything is understood through the three fundamental energy types, or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Based on combinations of the five elements (space, air, fire, water, and earth), each dosha has distinct qualities that shape an individual's unique physical, mental, and emotional constitution. While everyone possesses all three doshas, most people have one or two that are dominant. The goal of Ayurvedic practice is to maintain a balanced state of these doshas through diet, lifestyle, and herbal remedies, and to recognise that imbalances can lead to illness.

Yoga and Ayurveda are often called "sister sciences" because they both originate from the same ancient Vedic texts and share the common goal of promoting holistic well-being. While Ayurveda is a comprehensive medical system focused on healing the body through diet, herbs, and lifestyle, yoga is a spiritual practice cantered on purifying the mind and consciousness through postures, breath, and meditation. The two disciplines interrelate by providing a personalized and comprehensive path to health and balance.
